BWC470 Plain English Writing Skills

Tuition: $295.00

The Plain English Writing Skills course teaches the skills now being required in law, business, government, medicine, finance, and academics to simplify contracts, reports, legal documents, research explanations, and other writing that is often fogged by complex, stilted phrasing and jargon. After you finish the lessons, you will receive coaching from the instructor in applying the skills to your own writing. You will submit documents you write as part of your work activities, or you will write documents that simulate work activities. The instructor will evaluate them, coach you in how to improve the documents using clear, plain English, and certify your competence in writing using plain English.

The online lessons contain clear explanations and many examples. You go at your own pace and submit assignments when you are ready. The instructor evaluates the activities and examinations, comments on skills learned and skills that still need polish, coaches you through learning the skills, and certifies your competence. You receive a graduation certificate for framing at the end of the course.
